15 Promises of Mary to Those Who Pray the Rosary

15 PROMISES OF MARY TO THOSE WHO RECITE THE ROSARY

St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche, O.P. were entrusted by Our Lady with the mission of proclaiming the following 15 Promises to those who will pray the Rosary diligently:

1. Whoever shall faithfully recite the Rosary in service of Me shall receive great graces.

2. I promise to give special protection / and the greatest graces to all who recite the Rosary.

3. The Rosary shall be a strong armor against hell. It shall destroy vice, reduce sin, and overcome all heresies.

4. I will help you to grow in virtue and good works; you shall obtain mercy from the good Lord; your minds will be freed from worldly passions and vanities, and your hearts will be raised to desire eternal values. Oh, that your souls would use these means to sanctify themselves.

5. The soul that trusts in Me by reciting the Rosary will not perish.

6. Whoever recites the Rosary with a sincere heart, meditating on the holy mysteries, will not be overcome by evil. He will not be punished by God's justice, nor will he die an untimely death; if he is just, he will live in God's grace, and will merit eternal life.

7. Whoever is truly devoted to the Rosary will not die without receiving the sacraments of the Holy Church.

8. All who faithfully recite the Rosary will be enlightened by the light and abundance of God's graces during their life on earth / and at the hour of death; at the hour of death they will share in the merits of the saints in heaven.

9. I will deliver from purgatory all those who are devoted to the Rosary.

10. Those who are faithful to the Rosary will merit a high degree of glory in heaven.

11. I will grant you all that you ask for by reciting the Rosary.

12. All who propagate the Rosary will be assisted by me in every case of need.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son, Jesus, the privilege of having all those who promote the recitation of the Rosary always protected by the whole heavenly court during their earthly life and at the moment of death.

14. All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my Only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion to the Rosary of Mary is a great sign of predestination.

DETAILED HOW TO RECITE THE ROSARY IS AS FOLLOWS (for those who have not yet figured out the method above):

We begin the Rosary by making the Sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Next, we recite the Creed to profess our faith.

Then, on the first bead, we say the Our Father, the next three beads we say: 3 Hail Marys and on the fourth bead, the Glory Be: “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.” Remembering the love and worship of the Trinity.

Next, with Mary, we meditate on an event in the life of Jesus (commonly called a mystery, these mysteries awaken in us the joys, passion and glory of Jesus), based on the Bible.

The Our Father

10 Hail Marys

The Glory Be

We repeat it 5 times according to the arrangement of the beads as we see in the rosary.

At each mystery, one can add a brief meditation in the name of Jesus related to the mystery being meditated. For example, “The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple” or “Jesus Crowned with Thorns” or “Jesus Risen.” We can also add our own intentions.

The Joyful Mysteries

Monday and Saturday meditations

The Annunciation (freedom), The Visitation (going out to others), Christmas (coming to Christ), The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple (giving good things to others), Finding Jesus in the Temple (seeking Jesus in all things).

The Sorrowful Mysteries

Tuesday and Friday meditations

Jesus in sorrow sweating blood in the Garden of Gethsemane (repeating the words “Yes,” Thy will), Jesus being scourged (trusting in God), Jesus being crowned with thorns (being humble), Jesus carrying the cross (carrying his cross daily), Jesus being crucified and dying on the cross (igniting his love for God).

The Five Glorious Mysteries

Reflections on Wednesday and Sunday

The Resurrection (renewal of life in man), the Ascension (love of heavenly things), the descent of the Holy Spirit (to be guided by the Holy Spirit), the Assumption of Mary (to ask for a happy death), the crowning of Mary (entrustment to the Virgin Mary).

The Five Luminous Mysteries

Reflections on Thursday

The Baptism of Christ in the Jordan, the miracle at Cana, the call to conversion, the Transfiguration, the institution of the Eucharist.

Introduction

“The Rosary is an excellent means of contemplating Christ with Mary” (from the Apostolic Letter Rosary). That is why we love to pray the Rosary.

After each decade of Hail Marys, the Church invites us to meditate on an event in the life of Jesus:

THE FIVE JOYFUL MYSTERIES: We meditate on the event of the Son of God becoming man, culminating in the Nativity of the Only Begotten Son of God

THE FIVE SORRY MYSTERIES: We meditate on the painful event of Jesus' death completed by his death on the cross.

THE FIVE JOYFUL MYSTERIES: We begin our meditation with the event of Jesus' Resurrection.

The three rosaries of the three seasons JOYFUL, SORRY, and GLORIOUS, consecutively like that, are called "the Rosary".

THE FIVE LIGHTFUL MYSTERIES: On the occasion of the Great Jubilee Year 2000, Saint Pope John Paul II proposed that the Church add five more mysteries to the Rosary, the FIVE LIGHTFUL MYSTERIES. These FIVE LIGHT MYSTERIES refer to the events that Jesus lived, specifically: the event of Jesus' Baptism in the Jordan River; the event of Jesus being invited to attend the wedding feast at Cana; the beginning of Jesus' mission of proclaiming the Good News; Jesus' transfiguration before the three disciples, and finally the event of Jesus instituting the Eucharist at the Last Supper.

These are the FIVE LIGHT MYSTERIES that we now contemplate with Mother Mary. In communion with the entire Church everywhere, we thank God at this moment for the many wonders that He has done; the hour of glorifying the angels, sharing the glory of His Only Begotten Son. Together with Mother Mary, we can turn to Jesus, welcoming Him into our lives.

*Sing a suitable song: Ave Maria!

Father, the life of Your Son Jesus is a journey, starting from the event of His Baptismbaptized until the Resurrection. Mary, his Mother, was the first disciple who followed her Son in faith. Now, Father, may she accompany us in this hour of prayer, that the meditation on these holy mysteries may be a journey of faith. We pray to you, Father, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

*Sing: Years Ago on the Oak

Make the Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Creed

I believe in God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth; I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from heaven he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit. I believe in the holy holy church, and in the communion of saints. I believe in the forgiveness of sins. I believe in the resurrection of the body. I believe in the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive our trespasses; and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hail Mary…

Hail Mary…

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Prayer of the Rosary

O Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

Hail Mary

O Queen, good Mother, give us life, joy, and hope, O my God. We, the children of Eve, cry to Thee from exile, we weep and lament, and beseech Thee from a place of weeping and lamentation. Alas! Thou art our advocate, turn Thy face toward us with mercy. After our exile, grant that we may see Jesus, the blessed fruit of Thy womb. O mercy! O mercy! O sweet! O ever-virgin Mary. Amen.
