A young Polish Catholic man, 23-year-old Jabub Karlowicz, completed a 5,600-kilometer walking pilgrimage, from Poland to Fatima, in 221 days, completely trusting in Divine Providence.
Mr. Jabub Karlowicz is a barber who has gone on pilgrimage to 10 countries, praying the Rosary and praying for peace. Female journalist Agnieszka Bugala reported on the Aleteia website, in seven languages, about Jabuk's pilgrimage.
For him, the most important thing on each day of pilgrimage is having the opportunity to attend Mass and adore the Blessed Sacrament. And he considered the Rosary "the most effective weapon in the world" and he always carried this rosary with him.
Mr. Jabub departed from Poland on July 17 last year (2022) and on February 24 this year (2023), he arrived in Fatima. He had brought no food or extra clothes for the pilgrimage, and he had no money or credit cards. However, he brought along a hair clipper and along the way he practiced his profession to thank the benefactors for their help. He trusted in the protection of Mary and placed himself under the protection of St. John Bosco, whose motto he tried to carry out: “A sad saint is not a saint.” When traveling, Jabub believed that he was under God's protection, so he did not worry about what he would eat or where he would sleep.
However, during the 221 days of pilgrimage, Jabub never went hungry and never fell into situations that made him want to turn back. On the contrary, every day, in every country, even in the smallest village, he experiences kindness, hospitality and selfless support. Now Mr. Jabub is on his way back to Poland. The journey back and forth passes through many Christian pilgrimage sites. One time, he recounted in a popular video on Facebook: "Under God's providence" that suddenly an expensive BMW stopped, a few men wearing masks got out of the car, they opened the car and opened it. trunk and a large bag of groceries and they gave him food for three days.
