The twins baptize the twins

On July 18, twins Gianna and Andrew Renwick were born, each weighing nearly 3 kg. A month later, on August 20, the two babies were baptized at St. Mary's Church in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, by Father Ben Daghir and Deacon Luke Daghir, also twins.

Luke and Kristin Renwick are parents of four children under the age of 4: Arthur, Grace, Gianna and Andrew. The couple told CAN that they always pray for the twins. For them, twins are genetic. Kristin's mother was a twin and her maternal great-grandfather was also a twin.

Last year, Kristin was pregnant with twins, but had a miscarriage. This time she was pregnant, continuing with twins.

When the Renwick family learned they were pregnant with twins, they were very happy to share the news with their parish priest, Father Ben Daghir, who was just ordained a priest in the spring of 2022. When talking with the pastor Regarding the baptism of these twins, Father Ben Daghir proposed to the Renwick family to let his twin brother, who is a deacon, participate in the baptism of the two children.

“We thought it was the coolest thing in the world, and I mean, how unique is it?” Luke said.

The baptism ceremony for the two children, instead of being celebrated at another time, is now celebrated during mass.

Another special case is that the parents of the two children's godparents are also twins. Gianna's godparents are Kristin's sister and brother-in-law, and Andrew's godparents are Luke's sister and a close family friend who is currently studying at the seminary.

For Kristin, having three sets of twins present at the christening was very special.
