The Medical Examiner Committee of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints has recognized a miraculous, medically unexplained recovery, and is now looking into the matter by the Theological Commission of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to see if it was a miracle thanks to the intercession of the Venerable Carlos Acutis or not.
If the Theological Commission affirms, and the Council of Cardinals and Member Bishops of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints agrees, then the case will be presented to the Holy Father and he has promulgated a decree recognizing the miracle and the saint. 15-year-old servants of God can be beatified.
Carlos Acutis is an Italian teenager who died in 2006 of leukemia at the age of 15 and on July 5 last year (2018) the Holy Father authorized the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to publish a decree recognizing the Servant. Lord Acutis practiced Christian virtues to a heroic degree, and was called the Venerable.
The strange healing happened in October 2010 at a parish chapel of Our Lady of Aparecida in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil. A 10-year-old child was seriously ill in the pancreas, constantly vomiting, but was immediately cured when touching the relics of Carlo Acutis. The medical record of the case was sent to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints for review after an investigation at the diocesan level.
On November 14, 2019, the petitioner for the beatification of Carlo Acutis, Nicola Gori, confirmed the above news and said, "Let us continue to pray that God soon glorify his Servant of God. Him, to encourage the journey of holiness of the whole Church, especially young people.”
