5,463 catechumens baptized in France

During the Easter Vigil, last April 8, nearly 5,500 adult catechumens were baptized, confirmed and received the Eucharist in France, that is an increase of 1,000 people compared to last year, an increase of 28 people. %. This is the highest number since 20 years.

A statement from Bishop Olivier Leborgne, Bishop of Arras, President of the French Episcopal Commission for Catechesis and Catechesis, said: “Baptized in the death and resurrection of Christ, these men and women have Allow yourself to be attracted by the love of God, manifested in Jesus Christ. They desire to receive the life power of God, in the grace of the Holy Spirit, to live and manifest that love in the heart of the world. The Church is renewed so that the world is encouraged on the path of charity in truth, solidarity and peace. It is a powerful word in times of turmoil, drawing us forward, towards a more fraternal society, towards God, the source and fullness of all humanity. Gratitude wells up from the hearts of the baptized. At the same time, he is aware of his responsibility towards the world”.
