A STORY OF HEALING AND FAITH
A Beautiful MIRACLE through the Blessed Hands of Pope Benedict XVI. Know the story:
Peter Srsich met Pope Benedict XVI in May 2012, along with his parents Tom and Laura, and his brother Johnny. They were all in St. Peter's Square at the Pope's audience.
They came from Colorado, Peter was 19 years old and had arrived in front of the Pontiff, thanks to a trip organized by the International Foundation "Make A Wish", which works to make the wishes of the sick come true.
Peter was so excited that he didn't expect a one-on-one meeting. He thought he would have a few moments to tell her about himself, when he realized that they all had gifts with them, but he, on the other hand, had nothing to offer.
Then Peter's father, Tom, proposed that he give him the green bracelet he was wearing, with the words "Pray for Peter" and the passage from Romans 8:28: "...And we know that those who love God, those who are called according to his purpose.”, which Peter loved so much.
That was just one of the 1,200 bracelets his classmate had made to create a prayer chain for his health.
Peter had lung cancer, a late-stage Hodgkin lymphoma that was putting pressure on his heart. It was so big that they couldn't anesthetize him, because there was a risk that he wouldn't wake up again, so they couldn't even remove it for a biopsy.
The multiple chemotherapies had led him to depression, from which he only recovered when he received the Eucharist. Peter fought that disease and was convinced that he could be cured if he simply went to the Vatican.
Then the boy stood before the Pope, explaining everything in a few words and asking for a blessing. Pope Benedict XVI blessed him, placing his right hand on his chest, where the tumor was, without Peter telling him where he was.
From that moment on, the boy never stopped improving, until he was completely cured.
He attended Seminary and is now an ordained Priest on May 15, 2021.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
