The Site Where Our Lady Appeared: Rare Footage of 1941 Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico

This is so cool!

Dec. 12 is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas.

In 1531, when Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to St. Juan Diego on the Hill of Tepeyac, she requested the diocese build a shrine in her honor.

This shrine, also known as the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is located on that same hill. It now attracts more than 20 million visitors each year!

Rare footage from a 1941 Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico recently surfaced on social media. Approximately 20 countries across the Americas joined in this celebration.

The video shows Archbishop John Joseph Cantwell of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles officiating, along with countless church prelates and pilgrims.

It’s so beautiful!
