Witness of faith: Sida patient (On World AIDS Day - December 1st)

Remember that day was a conference day. In the part about himself, a young man with SIDA told about his life to young people as a living proof, a concrete testimony of himself.

He is the son of a rich and powerful family in society. Parents are very indulgent. Those are the reasons that make him a pervert. He also went to school like everyone else, and studied well, but he soon drifted off. Getting into college was a blessing. He doesn't see it as an opportunity on the way to progress, but considers leaving his family to go to college as an opportunity for him to get rid of the ties of the family, from the control (he thinks) of his parents, alone, self-exploring the dark world of light-fearing people like him...

A few years later, when his family was allowed to go to the US under H.O., he realized that "heaven gave" him the opportunity to completely cut off the control of his parents, especially no longer having to worry about his parents or their family. money every time he extended his hand to ask…

Then what had to happen happened. The sinful world he loved, he immersed himself in, gave him a harsh slap: he had SIDA!

The day he received the positive test report, he felt like the sky was collapsing, the ground under his feet was spinning. Every day when he has money, friends surround him. Seeing him now, everyone avoids them. No more drinking, no more white nights at the casino, no more dark scenes of people who prefer to live instinctively over self-mastery...

He lost everything. In front of everyone, he seemed to be dirtier than a piece of rotten garbage. He is alive but nothing more than a zombie. He was breathing but apparently not alive anymore. The physical death that was taking over him every moment, the death of spirituality, loneliness, guilt, the death of hatred that everyone had for him was even greater, heavier and terrible. than. He lost, was empty-handed.

Desperate, he went to the railroad tracks and sat there waiting to give his life on the edge of the abyss to some fateful train.

It's destiny! The ill-fated train he was on did not carry him to the afterlife. He recovered, gradually realizing he was in the hospital.

If before committing suicide, his life was hell, now, after coming back from the dead, that life becomes even more hell. His body lay neatly on the bed, leaving only the upper body, the lower limbs permanently sent back to the rails with the crushed marks of the iron wheels.

To this extent, in the eyes of everyone, he is still a wild beast, no one dares to approach, not even the doctors. Maybe, he only received pity from them. Extreme suffering. He could only curse himself, and curse the people who brought him back to life.

Then the figure of a nun appeared. She is serving at the M. center in a suburban district of Saigon, in the diocese of P., specializing in caring for people living with HIV and AIDS (SIDA). So dissatisfied with life, he no longer trusts anyone, even if they are nuns.

But after much persuasion, he fell in love. Follow the lovely nun back to the center, but his heart is still doubtful. Then time gave him the answer. Now, he knew, he had come to the right place. People who forget their whole lives, dare to dedicate their youth to religious ideals, with a desire to be like Christ, what reason could they have for doubting him? Now he understands the two words HUMAN. It is sacred and lovely.

Before, when diving in the world of clouds, he thought he was a free man. But you are wrong. It is when he surrenders to his instincts, sells himself to the shallowness of momentary thinking, that he becomes the worst slave: a slave to his own condemnable mistakes, a slave to himself. the lowly passions he loved.

Now when life is just short days, I know that people are only noble, life contains a lot of happiness, and this lovely and precious life can only be obtained when people know how to live by a discipline, know how to give love, know how to extend a hand to serve.

The nuns he met in his hospital bed were such people. It was the sisters who gave him back, not all life, but also all the meaning of life, all the joy of living.

Thanks to that, he now had the courage to talk about his own life for all the young people present to listen, without any hesitation, without the guilt of having to reveal the truth of his life. Experiencing all the meaning of life gave him courage and courage.

Shut up. JB NGUYEN MINH HUNG
