Two Priests Killed in Mexico

Mexico, Two priests were attacked and killed. According to the first reconstruction, two priests were killed by men with heavy weapons traveling on a truck.

The bodies of the victims were found on the road connecting the city of Taxco de Alarcon and Iguala. The victims were Father Iván Añorve, 37, parish priest in Las Vigas, San Marcos, and Germaín Muñiz García, 39, pastor in Mezcala, in Eduardo Neri.

According to the police report, based on the testimony of surviving eyewitnesses, the priests went to Juliantla and were attacked on their way back. According to the investigation, about 1km from the scene, police discovered a truck with Mexixo's number plate, inside there were military uniforms.

In the past five years, six Catholic priests have been killed in different cities of Guerrero, which is one of the most violent states in the country (L'Osservatore Romano February 7, 2018).
