On December 22, Heather lay in bed, eyes half open, wearing an oxygen mask on her face and lots of tubes around, but still wearing makeup to prepare for the big day of her life. The 31-year-old psychologist has stage 4 breast cancer.
Soon after, Heather changed into her wedding dress, put on a wig herself and was pushed by doctors to the chapel of St. Francis, Hartford City , Connecticut to marry fiance David Mosher, 35 years old.
Her wedding ceremony was filled with smiles, happiness and emotions like any other. In particular, most of the photos in this event, just posted yesterday on Mirror , were taken by the groom's ex-wife, Ashley Mosher.
Ashley loves Heather very much, despite their tumultuous relationship. “I love the woman my ex-husband will marry. I love my children's stepmother," Ashley said.
Heather and David fell in love after meeting at a dance class in 2015. Right on December 23, 2016, when David was about to propose to his girlfriend, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. However, he still carried out his plan to take his girlfriend out by carriage and propose to her under the street lights.
"I told myself she needed to know that she wouldn't have to walk this path alone," David said.
Last September, Heather's cancer spread to her brain and lungs.
She and David were planning to get married on December 30, but the doctors suggested they do it sooner because Heather's condition worsened.

Heather raised her arms high as a symbol of victory. She had a dream wedding with the one she loved, even though she knew she didn't have long to live.
After the wedding, Heather returned to her old hospital room, but at the end of her bed was a note that said "Just married". 18 hours later, Heather took her last breath. The funeral took place on December 30, the day she planned to get married.
"I told her I would keep her in our hearts and memories," Ashley said. "She had a beautiful death."
