During an exorcism in Italy in 1823, two Dominican priests forced the devil to profess a doctrine that the Catholic Church would officially profess only 30 years later.

It happened in 1823. An illiterate 12-year-old boy was possessed by a demon; The boy lived in what is now the Italian province of Avellino, near Naples in the south. Two Dominican priests, Father Gassiti and Father Pignataro, were commissioned by the local bishop to carry out the exorcism. In the process of expelling the evil spirit, they asked the demon residing in the boy many things, including the issue related to the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception.
The devil must confess that: the Virgin Mary of Nazareth was never under his power, both at the moment of conception and throughout her life, for she was conceived "full of grace" and as soon as she was conceived.
