An unexpected Eucharistic miracle with thieves

In the 14th century, in the region of Brussels, the capital of Belgium, there lived a merchant who detested the Catholic faith. He wished to cause the greatest sadness to the Catholics living in the area, and to do so, he plotted to steal the Host from a nearby church.

He hired a robber to do this. In the middle of the night, this guy sneaked into several different churches and stole a total of 16 Hosts from tabernacles. He brought the Hosts to the merchant, who kept them in the house for a while.

On Good Friday, 1370, the merchant brought the Hosts before a group of friends to insult. They started taking knives and stabbing the Cake plates. Suddenly, a terrible thing happened in front of them, the Cakes were punctured and bleeding profusely. When the blasphemers saw this, they were shocked and fell to their knees. The red blood flowed endlessly from the loaves, so they gathered up the pieces and brought them to a Catholic they knew. Feeling a heavy conscience, they confessed their sins to a nearby priest.

The Hosts were carried to the Basilica of Saint Michael and were kept intact until the Second World War, nearly 500 years later. The faithful have fervent devotion to these Eucharistic hosts. This is indeed a guarantee of the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
