Bishop Francisco Simón Conesa, 60, is from Alicante, Mercedarian and a member of the Episcopal Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith.

He was born on August 25, 1961, the eldest child in a devout Catholic family of four children. At the age of 12, he entered the minor seminary of Orihuela; and was later ordained a priest on September 29, 1985.

He has been pastorally active in his home diocese of Orihuela-Alicante, as a vicar, rector and as a rector in various seminaries. On October 27, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Menorca. The ordination ceremony was held on January 7, 2017.
