Hiroshima Miracle – Jesuits survived the atomic bomb by praying the rosary

The atomic attack on Hiroshima killed about 80,000 people instantly, in addition to being responsible for about 130,000 other deaths, most of them civilians. The attack on the port city of Nagasaki instantly killed about 40,000 people, and destroyed a third of the city.

Four Jesuits lived near the detonation of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, but they survived the disaster, and the radiation that killed thousands of people over the next several months had no effect on them either. .

Jesuit priests Hugo Lassalle, Hubert Schiffer, Wilhelm Kleinsorge, and Hubert Cieslik, are staying in the rectory of the church of Our Lady of the Assumption, one of the few buildings that survived the nuclear explosion.

Father Cieslik wrote in his diary that they suffered only minor injuries from broken glass, but did not suffer any harm from atomic energy.

The doctor caring for them later warned that the radiation they were exposed to would cause serious injury, illness and death.

But this prediction was never fulfilled. No complications occurred, and in 1976, Father Schiffer attended the Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia, and told his life story. He confirmed that three other Jesuits were still alive without any illness. There have been several dozen doctors, re-examined more than 200 times, but still have not detected any traces of radiation in these Jesuits.

All four fathers were convinced that they were protected by God and the Virgin Mary. ‘We live the message of Fatima and say the Rosary every day.’

Bishop Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi of Niigata, on August 6, said that Japan can contribute to peace, 'Not with new weapons, but with the noble activities that have been long carried out in making peace. developing world, especially in developing countries.'

Bishop Kikichi added that, “this contribution to development, which brings about the full and full respect of human dignity, is appreciated and cherished by the international community.”
