A Catholic priest was doused with acid during confession

Father Mario Guevara, 59, the vicar of the Cathedral of Managua, Nicaragua, was hit in the face with sulfuric acid while sitting in confession.

Fides news agency of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples said that Father Mario suffered serious burns but his condition is stable and has overcome the danger to his life.

The killer is a 24-year-old woman. She, an extreme pro-abortion activist, tried to escape but was caught by her parishioners and handed over to the police.

Police sources in Managua said in initial testimony to investigators she said she was instigated by Satan to do so.

A statement from the archdiocese asks you to pray for Father Mario. His health already had many problems because of long-standing diabetes.

The archdiocese also asked the faithful to pray “for all our priests” during the novena for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
