A missing priest, after 2 days was found tied and unconscious in the car

Father Leoben Peregrino, a Filipino priest, was found unconscious and tied up in his car, after being reported missing for the previous two days.

Father Leoben Peregrino, 58, was found missing on April 1. At noon that day, parishioners still saw him using his car to buy candles in the town of Imus in Cavite province, south of Manila.

However, his parishioners and family did not see him later returning to the parish of Most Holy Rosary in Rosario, which was entrusted to his care.

On March 3, 48 hours after he went missing, Father Peregrino was found by a passerby in his car in the nearby town of Silang. Father was taken to the hospital immediately and is being cared for.

Police have yet to be able to interview Peregrino's father, but say they are looking at different angles, but evidence indicates that this could be a kidnapping for ransom.

His family thanks everyone who prayed for Fr Peregrino's safety. His parishioners were shocked by the incident, and said: “If they could have done this to our pastor, they could have done worse things to us, the public servants. ordinary people”.
