29 year old brother and 27 year old brother were ordained priests on the same day

In Saillon, in eastern Switzerland, Simon, 29, and his younger brother Valentin, 27, were ordained priests. One for the diocese of Sion and the other for the congregation of the canons of Grand-Saint-Bernard. A party that brought together, Saturday, June 27, many faithful.

Simon and Valentin Roduit, 29 and 27, became priests on Saturday June 27. These two brothers received the Sacrament of Orders from Bishop Jean-Marie Lovey, Bishop of the Diocese of Sion. In the village of Saillon, east of Geneva, it was in front of their family and parishioners that their ordination mass took place outdoors. Alongside the two brothers, Christian Turre, was ordained deacon. Those who have discovered the vocation of one and the other shortly before their joint entry into the seminary will begin their ministry in different ways.

Valentin Roduit chose the diocesan way. For his brother Simon, the path continues within the community of the canons of Grand-Saint-Bernard. A few days before their ordination, the seminarians came back on video to the meaning of their commitment. Why answer the call and become a priest? “Transmitting the faith” for Valentin and “announcing the Word”, completes Simon. After a common ordination, the two brothers will continue to serve God and his Church according to their respective charisms.
